Bulk import and export

Create many dynamic QR codes from a CSV file, and export your whole list back out.

You can create many dynamic QR codes at once by uploading a CSV file. Each row becomes one dynamic code that redirects to one URL. Bulk import is available on plans that include it, see plans and billing.

How do I import codes from a CSV?

  1. Open the QR codes page and choose Import CSV.
  2. Choose a CSV file. The dialog is titled "Import QR codes from CSV".
  3. Review the import summary, which shows how many codes were created and how many were skipped.
  4. Download the results file if you want a record of what happened to each row.

What columns does the file need?

Each row needs a destination. The header names it accepts are:

| Column | Required | Notes | | --- | --- | --- | | destination_url (also url or destination) | Yes | The web address the code should open | | name | No | If blank, the URL is used as the name | | tags | No | Separated by commas or spaces |

What are the limits?

  • Up to 1,000 rows per file.
  • Up to 2 MB per file.
  • Import stops when you reach your plan's dynamic code limit.
  • Up to 20 row errors are reported, so fix those and import again.

Imported codes are dynamic, single-destination URL codes. After import, open any code to add routing rules, change its design, or edit its destination.

How do I export my codes?

Use the export button on the QR codes page. The CSV has these columns: name, slug, short_url, kind, destination_url, status, total_scans, and created_at. It is a handy way to audit what is live, or to feed a spreadsheet.

How do I export scan data?

Per-code scan events can be downloaded as JSON or CSV through the API, see the API reference. In the dashboard, the Analytics tab shows the same events summarized, see scan analytics.
